Instead we have to rely on community members to tell us their workarounds and troubleshooting methods instead of the actual company itself. For the amount of money that Autodesk charges for a user license, we expect better communication, and documentation from them at a minimum. Note: If users have different versions of Dynamo, confirm all users are on the same build of Revit and update as needed: How to tie the Build number with the Revit update. I also have never seen someone defend Autodesk so hard before in any of my forum posts regarding actual serious and valid issues that are brought up. Apply the latest update for Revit to include the latest version of Dynamo: Update your software. As a sys admin I don't download Autodesk files and updates if they are not directly available from Autodesk or a trusted source like our reseller and then apply them to several hundred VM's and endpoints. LOL my job is not on the line, and Autodesk's removal of 2019 finally gives me the leverage to go back to the managers and tell them to upgrade their projects to 2020. Literally the only update I was discussing was the 2.6 update which was available as of last week and still shows up on the site here. Hence not pushing out the 2.6 update as soon as it became available. But since some of the updates cause issues which require hotfixes down the road, and I really don't like to test updates right as they come out in our production environment, we usually stick to a monthly and or quarterly update schedule. We have backup versions of older Revit's since we do have projects still in Revit 20. By chance did you never do that, store/keep copies of updates at your location(s)?" Autodesk makes software and services available on a licensed or subscription basis. ""Business Critical Software" to most of us means we all ensure we always have access to it directly without relying on any 3rd party or even the original creator/author. "Then, if I may ask, why are you here then asking fellow end users who are not Autodesk employees?"īecause I am trying to see if anyone else has the same issue with Revit 2019 now being unavailable via normal downloads? This falls into the same category of Autodesk failing to tell us they are using a new wrapper for their update and setup files causing issues with silent install command switches, lack of any documentation and or support and once again relying on the community to identify, troubleshoot and resolve these issues. So does Autodesk expect me to uninstall all Revit 2019 versions and revert to the base version of Revit 2019 to maintain parity with all of our end users including any new ones that need to continue projects in Revit 2019? Does Autodesk even think any of these things through before pulling products off their support page? What about something as simple as sending out a communication advising that older versions will no longer be available and or accessible? I have created several support tickets already only to be told that I can be emailed the base install files for Revit 2019 but that they no longer have access to the 2.6 update. Most of our users are on Revit 2019 (2.5 update to be specific) and so are most of our projects. Revit 2019 and its updates were available to download and install as of last week and are now gone. Once per month we have a sync meeting to go over available Revit updates with leadership before pushing out the updates via silent installers using BigFix the following month.
